The eternal cringe from the fitness industry
Am I the only one or are more people with me on this?
Hey there,
Am I the only one who cringes when I see guys flexing in front of the camera?
I know, I know—I'm being a hypocrite.
I’ve been guilty of showing off my physique.
A lot.
But hear me out. I’ve been working out for nearly a decade—ten years of consistent training—without ever taking a single shirtless picture.
Seriously.
Back then, I never felt the need to show off. Sure, I was proud of my progress, but maybe because I was bullied earlier in life, I learned to keep things to myself. It doesn’t matter why—what matters is this:
Today, when I do share my physique, it’s not about vanity. It’s about credibility. It’s about proof. And, yes, marketing—I’m being transparent here. 😃
But let’s get back to the rant.
If you’re anywhere near the fitness niche on social media, you’ve probably seen it: guys constantly flexing for the camera.
And honestly? It makes me cringe a little. Worse, I cringe at myself when I do it. But here’s the thing—you’ve got to play the game.
Still, something about it feels… off. It feels feminine. To put it bluntly, I feel like a bit of a bitch when I do it.
To me, it screams:
“Look at me. Look at my muscles. Look at how good I look!”
And I don’t like that.
It screams insecurity—like someone who doesn’t feel confident at their core and needs outside validation.
This is also why I’m not a big fan of bodybuilding. Why would I want to show off my body just to be judged by another man? It’s weird to me.
Fitness, to me, is about building discipline and consistency in your mind. Your body? That’s just the reflection of those efforts.
That’s what I’m proud of.
And that pride? It’s for me—not for the world to see.
Because, at the end of the day, what matters is the spirit you build inside—the character, strength, and mindset you develop. Fitness was my tool for that growth, but so were my social skills and my coding skills.
It’s the spirit and soul that count. That’s far more important than the size of your biceps.
I hope this message was eye-opening for you. I’m committed to helping people not just with their fitness journey, but also in building the spirit and mindset needed for real success.
So if you’re interested in reaching your fitness goals faster—and growing stronger in more ways than one—let’s work together.
