Lambo's, perfume, watches, cigars, jewelry—sh*t that doesn't matter.

You could have all of that, and you’re still a loser. A loser without character.

If you go on social media regularly, you’ve probably noticed that certain styles of content get a lot of attention.

If you’re a guy, you’re probably bombarded with content of other guys flexing their wealth—fancy cars, expensive colognes, luxury watches, cigars, etc.

Of course, this depends on your specific profile, but most of the time, if you’re male, this kind of stuff will pop up on your feed. Maybe once, but more often than not, regularly.

A while ago, I thought those things were cool. I aspired to have all that. Nowadays? I cringe so hard when I see it.

To me, it screams insecurity.

The worst part is that a lot of guys seem to aspire to be like that. They’re getting bombarded with this content, framing their beliefs that this is what they should strive for—implanting the idea that this is what life is all about.

But here’s the real question: Are they doing it for themselves? Or are they just trying to prove to the world that they are someone?

Like, “Hey, look at me! I’m the man!”

But here’s the kicker—it’s not the material possessions that make the man. It’s the character and his inner strength that make the man.

Being kind, being unshakable, having confidence, and not trying to prove anything to anyone—that’s what a real man is.

Let me tell you a little story.

There’s this guy at the gym (yep, another gym story). He rolls in wearing an expensive cologne and a full Hugo Boss sports outfit. With social media logic, you’d assume this guy is the absolute alpha chad (sorry for the wording).

Nope.

This guy is a massive idiot.

And the funny thing? Now that outfit and cologne are correlated with ‘idiot’ in my mind. His character is so bad that people now associate what he wears with his personality.

It’s like when you meet a guy named Tom who turns out to be an absolute douche. Suddenly, every other Tom in your life is ruined because you’ll forever correlate “Tom” with “douche.”

It’s the character that makes the man.

So, how do you build character?

Do hard things. Overcome challenges. Face your fears. Live life on the edge.
