It Doesn't Get Any Easier. It Gets Harder.
If you don't decide to take responsibility for your health, nobody will.
You're in your 20s, and you think you have all the time in the world.
You party, you drink, you eat fast food, and you order takeout most of the time.
The usual stuff, right?
You don’t see any repercussions for your actions, so you just carry on with those habits.
Then the 30s hit like a f*cking truck.
You eat out? You gain weight.
You drink alcohol? You lose an entire week.
You order food? You forget how to cook healthy meals.
The consequences of your 20-year-old self's choices will become painfully obvious in your 30s.
Beer bellies, man boobs, love handles – you name it.
And listen, man. It’s not like I didn’t party, drink, and eat sh*tty food when I was in my 20s.
I did. A lot.
But I was also super aware that I needed to build healthy habits before it was too late.
Because as you get older, your metabolism will inevitably slow down. But, in my honest opinion, the most detrimental part of being over 30 is this:
Responsibilities.
You’ve got your job. You’ve got your spouse. Maybe you’ve even got kids.
Now you don’t have time for your health anymore. Your habits become more and more ingrained, and those habits aren’t helping your health in any way.
Worst of all?
Nobody will tell you a thing about it.
Nobody is there to point out your unhealthy habits.
Then, all those bad habits accumulate into an overweight body or, even worse, a life-threatening disease.
So, is it over if you’re older?
Nope.
But you’ve got to take action and take your health seriously.
It may take some time to learn the ropes and truly understand how diet and fitness work. Because you didn’t invest in your health in your 20s, you’ll need to play catch-up now.
It won’t be easy. It may require some sacrifice.
But I promise you this: it will be worth it in the long run.
Work becomes better.
Your relationships improve.
Life, overall, gets better.
