Start Your Fat Loss Journey with the Best Fat Loss Tip
First of all, happy New Year!
Hope you all had a great New Year’s Eve.
Let’s crush it this year and kick off this email!
I always work out super early in the morning.
The reason for that is that I’m a super idiot who likes to get the most important task of the day out of the way first thing. Plus, I get a boost in energy if I do that.
But that’s beside the point.
So, I went on my bike around 6 AM, and it was terrible weather. Raining, windy – typical Dutch weather. Unsurprisingly, I saw a bunch of out-of-shape people running outside.
This happens every year around early January. And of course, those people were overweight. I give them mad props for starting their year solid with some cardio, but deep down, I know they’re doing it wrong.
You don’t have to be a Harvard scholar to figure out they’re doing cardio this early to lose weight.
So, why are they doing it wrong?
Well, as someone who was overweight in the past and lost the weight not once but twice, I can tell you this:
It is super hard to sustain hard cardio year-round.
The exact same people doing cardio this morning will not be doing cardio a month or two later. And that’s ambitious—most will quit in two weeks.
So, what is the way to lose weight sustainably?
Dieting.
Yep, that’s it. And to be honest, I don’t like the term “dieting”—I’d rather say start eating healthy.
If you don’t know how to diet, here’s a quick and easy way to start your journey right away:
First, assess what foods you’re eating that are calorie-dense.
Think of mayonnaise, donuts, pizza, sugary snacks, etc. In other words, the crap food that tastes good.Replace them with foods that are less calorie-dense.
Mayonnaise → Greek Yogurt
Candy → Fruit
That’s already a 300-400 calorie reduction.
Remove liquid calories.
Like soda.
Boom—another 400+ calorie reduction (if you drink 4 cans of soda a day, which most people do).
In total, that’s an 800-calorie reduction each day.
That will amount to at least 1 lb of weight loss each week.
The whole game of dieting is just basic math: eat less than what you consume. But after a while, you’ll discover most of that is fixed by simply eating healthy.
But that’s a topic for another story.
And of course, you want to work out as well.
